The Citation Longitude was developed and manufactured by Textron Aviation. The Longitude was officially certified in 2019, almost seven years after it was announced. The Longitude serves its passengers well by offering an unrivaled range, 3,500 nautical miles to be exact, allowing the completion of transatlantic routes.
The Citation Longitude is powered by the Honeywell HTF7700L. These top of the line turbofan jet engines allow the Longitude to fly above 40,000 feet at more than mach .80. A cruising speed in excess of 550 mph ensures that passengers can travel anywhere in a timely manner.
The cabin, however, spares no expense. Boasting a six-foot-tall cabin allows great mobility throughout, and the 30 inches of legroom ensures great creature comforts for passengers. The Longitude can carry a maximum of 12 passengers, providing them comfort along the way. Mobility throughout the cabin includes allowing passengers access to the luggage compartment, which is heated and pressurized.
The Citation Longitude is equipped with the Garmin G5000 avionics suite. Flight controls are exceptionally redundant for the crew, as the Longitude includes fly-by-wire as well as hydraulically powered control surfaces — allowing the safety of redundancy in the cockpit.
The Citation Longitude leads its class in part thanks to the comfort the cabin provides to its passengers. Pair that with the high cruise speed and transatlantic capability, and the Longitude is one of the best in the industry.
